These tutorials have all been written by me, with the intent to show and explain each and every step, in detail, so that anybody of any experience level can get their PXL-2000 working great. I have done my best not to assume any previous DIY knowledge, but be aware that soldering skills are a prerequisite to repair almost anything in the PXL due to the way it’s constructed. In fact the only service you can do without any soldering is replacing the IR filter and focusing the lens. Additionally, while I try to make the instructions as clear as possible to be accessible to all skill levels, working on a PXL as your very first electronics project probably isn’t recommended given the rarity and delicate nature of the camera. Servicing and repairing an old cassette deck or Walkman is a great introduction to a lot of the parts and skills used here, and might be a better start if you’ve never worked on anything like this before. I hope not to discourage anybody, and if you personally have any trouble with your camera or you don’t understand my tutorials do not hesitate to reach out to me and ask for help. (I will add ways to contact me at a later date, I’m still setting that up.)
